Pumpkins are taking over my garden. I already have several larger than a basketball. Can I trim the runners beyond these pumpkins without adversly affecting the whoppers i have growing?

I think it would not harm the pumpkin if you would prune it. That would also decrease the number of fruits and make them bigger.

i have,,, i have also stepped on the runners and have not noticed any harm to the rest of the plants..

Been gardening all my life and cant get enough of it.
