It seems that now matter how thorough I am preparing my garden beds for springtime gardening, weeds are still wreaking havoc in my garden come summer. I don't want to spend a large portion of my summer time pulling on weeds

try small amounts of bleaching solution.

I don't practice pouring boiling water on my garden plot because aside from killing the weeds, it also kills beneficial microbes which are present in the soil

I try to control my weeds by putting bark around my flowers.  If this is a vegetable garden, my grandpa used to put layers of straw in between the plants.  He would then till the staw into the garden come fall for inert matter.

Thank you and Happy Gardening! ~ Sarah
