| I have to say that first of all I am a beginner in all this, so it's a great thing to be among such knowledgeable people. You'll have to excuse my "doh" questions and I hope you'll be able to provide me some info that would also be useful for other people who'll visit/join our community.
I heard that one shouldn't water the plants at noon, in the summer, when the sun is so strong, that thing I found out. What's the best moment though? Morning? Evening? Both? How do you manage this?

| The end of day is best. The water on the leaves when the sun is out could damage them.Water them when you want, just don't water them when the sun is shining, because the sun will burn the plants, especially if you get water on the leaves. The leaves will burn because the heat with a little water will multiply the temperature. | | | |

| I like to wait until the sun goes down some to actually water them with a hose. Less leaf burning as in the above post! BUT...if you have a soaker hose that won't be wetting the leaves, you can turn it on early in the morning for a good soak as well. Sometimes I have to do "emergency watering" on some plants in containers that never seem to get the rain actually IN the containers, and when I do that I really try to not wet the leaves. | | | |

| Watering the plants should not be done only once in a day. The best time for this is early in the morning during sunrise and before the sun sets.
We must consider the fact that plants are living things, just like human, it gets thirsty. What do you think?

| Does anyone here use an automatic watering system for their garden? I think I've seen those used much more often on lawns than gardens.
I guess that would be a good way to water at the right time of day if you had a hectic schedule.

| For my outdoor plants, I water them either early morning or at end of day. Please don't water your plants when the sun is shining hot because they will got a "shock" of their life the leaves will get burnt. For indoor plants, I just water them anytime. | | | |

| Watering your plants depend on the plants' needs, not on your whim.
There are types of plants that need constant moisture, so you should not let them dry out. However, overwatering will cause the roots to rot, so you just have to keep them moist, not wet. | | | "WORK is LOVE made visible" Kahlil Gibran

| I usually water my plants in the evening, when the sun is no longer so hot or is setting, for the same reason others have stated. Sometimes, when the summer is especially hot, the garden needs to be watered twice a day, so it can be done early in the morning and then again in the evening. You can tell when your plants need water. | | | |

| Watering early in the morning runs the risk of evaporation taking away much of the water in the soil before it is soaked into the roots. I think near dusk would be more effective. although watering both times couldnt hurt | | | |

| I think it is best to water your plants in the early evening, when the sun has set. The temperature of the plants have gone down and you won't risk burning the leaves. Its better to get the leaves and roots wet when watering the plants. | | | |

I water the plants early in the morning and in the afternoon. During noontime, if you observe that the plant is too dry, it would be fine to water it. I guess the important thing to remember is to keep the plant moist as much as possible. Do you agree?

| I would do what works for you. You already know that it isn't good to water them when the sun is shining. Are you able to water them every evening? If not, then do it every morning. I water mine in the evening once the sun has gone around to the opposite side of my house. | | | |

| The best time for me is in the early morning or early evening. In Phoenix AZ when you water during the day when the sun is out it burns the grass the plants. So when it's light out but still a little dark is best. | | | |

| I prefer to water my garden in the morning, so the roots aren't dry in the worst of the heat. I water in the evenings, too, if it is a VERY hot and/or dry day. My property is surrounded by trees, so I can get away with watering a little later in the morning and earlier in the evening than many people. | | | |

| Just like most of them, I would water the plants early in the morning and before the sun sets. The plants need water a lot that's why I do it twice a day. Are your plants exposed to too much sunlight? I think, it would be fine to water it thrice a day. | | | |
