Regarding the potatoes I planted in May ... the foliage is abundant, the plants are breaking 3 feet in height. The potatoes themselves however are barely 1/4 inch in diameter (I discovered when curiosity got the better of me and I pulled one up recently). Are things progressing as they should? Flourishing and healthy foliage and small potaoes?

Depending on the variety of your potato, harvest time is two to four months. It is okay to get the first few spuds after the flowers start to bloom. If you want to let the potatoes to mature and grow larger, stop watering them when the flowers start to bloom. When they begin to die in autumn, you can harvest the mature potatoes.

I think, when we totally stop to water the plant, it would surely get dry and eventually die, am I right? This information is quite new to me. It seems that, I still have to learn more about potatoes.
