| Sure, you can convert an old fish pond into a water garden or an aquatic garden. Ask your local plant dealer for supplies of aquatic pots and plants and instructions on how to do it. You can have some beautiful lotus flowers in no time. | | | "WORK is LOVE made visible" Kahlil Gibran | |

| water gardens are harder to care for IMO, but they produce a more exotic group of plants. they look absolutely great as well. good luck and post pics! | | | |

Water garden seems to be expensive. Aside from that, it really needs time and effort. Do you think it would better to have a water garden than an ordinary one?

| My friend did this with an old fish pond and it is wonderful. She went to the home and garden center to get all of the supplies needed. I think that every once in a while Home Depot will have a class on making a water garden. If you can catch a class, that would be great. | | | |

| Posted By mama bear on 7/25/2009 10:19 I would like to have a water garden in my home. Does anyone know how to go about it? Can I convert an old fish pond to a water garden? Where can I get planting materials and plants?
A water garden at home is something unique. I think, the best solution to your problem would be to hire a professional person who can do the job. Do you think a water garden requires a large space?

| its possible to change to water pond but the most important thing is that you have to choose plants which fits it because some plants gow fast and cover the entire area,. the idea of yours is very innovative. | | | |

| If they do not have filters, then just blow the water lines out.If the large one ran for a period of time with no water flow the pump may have burned out.Does the pump make any sound at all when power is on? If nothing happens when the lines are clean, remove the pump.Take it with you to a Home Depot,Lowes or similar store. They carry pumps for water gardens. You may find the size you need. The pump should have a label on it with voltage, and flow rate in gallons per minute. | | | |
