Are there any plants that keep mosquitoes away naturally? My apartment complex is spraying pesticides to ensure that the pool and BBQ patio are mosquito free, but I wonder if they could get the same effect by using different types of grass in the common areas or using mosquito repellent flowers in the planters that circle the pool.

Eucalyptus is good too. The plant itself is a strong water drainer, thus removing the chances of mosquitoes breeding in shallow water that gets pooled in the soil. Plus, the extracted oil is also a good insect repellant.

Mosquitoes can be a huge pain, both figuratively and literally. There's nothing more annoying than having to constantly swat and slap at the insects and if they do successfully manage to bite you, you're left with a nasty red, itchy bump that can linger for days. And then there's the risk, small as it may be, that the bugs are carrying disease such as West Nile Virus, which is much more serious news than a random itchy spot.

I suggest the following plants to repel mosquitoes:
Lemon Grass
Citronella Grass
Catnip
Rosemary
Marigolds
