My best friend renovated his lawn last month. He had many pines to removed, ground the stumps, tilled the entire lawn and ranked as much of the grindings out. He didn't add topsoil but he fertilized the plants. Do you think it have "brown patch"? How can he diagnose and cure this problem?

He can research lawn diseases on line or request help from your local Cooperative Extension Service.  However, grinding of tree stumps can change the soil make up, a soil test would confirm if his soil is in the ideal condition for grass growth.  He could have several issues going on.

Thank you and Happy Gardening! ~ Sarah
