Seed

Last year I removed a conifer tree from my lawn and it left a big bare patch in the grass (about 15' diameter). The guy who removed it said to leave the earth to settle before seeding, which I have done. I am about to rotovate the soil then seed but am not sure if the soil would have to much acid in it. If so, any suggestions? Plus, would it be a good idea to feed the soil before seeding?
