What is your recommendation on this? What can I put down together, and does the time of year make a difference?

Our recommendation is that yes, you can put seed, lime and fertilizerdown at the same time. As long as the fertilizer does not have any weed control with it. It is best to plant turf seeds in the early Spring or in August so that you get timely rains and have the right soil temperature for seed germination. We believe that the best possible application would be to apply lime and fertilizer first, and till them into the first two inches of the soil. We would then recommend putting your turf seed over the top and lightly rake it in for a small area. If you have a larger area, you could drag a piece of chain link fence or something simiar behind a tractor.
Thank you and Happy Gardening! ~ Sarah
