I was at a close friends place on the weekend who has a Walnut tree, I offered to prune for him next time we visited. He said that'd be great, make life easier with a chainsaw.

He went on to say that he had heard that after a couple of recent accidents and a death relating to tree felling, there was some media hype about bringimg in a permit or license system to SA for the operation and use of chainsaws. Apparently was in the paper and news that legislation to this effect was being introduced to parliament.

Has anyone else heard any reports on this?

I haven't seen it but it's about time. You ask any Hospital accident and emergency doctor what is their most amount of injuries and the worst injuries are that they treat and they will tell you that it's chainsaw injuries followed closely by mowers.

And we are just the lawn mower man...
